Pamela McElvane is CEO of P & L Group, Ltd a Chicago based business with a global reach in providing innovative solutions on retention, recognition and leadership, serving Fortune 1000 companies.

Pam’s vision transcends through her personal and professional life, having spent the last decade building a business and serving the community while simultaneously meeting the demands of family life.

 P&L Group, Ltd. was founded in 1996, whose products and services include Diversity MBA Magazine and Diversity MBA Magazine’s Awards Gala and Leadership Forum recognizing diverse leadership among corporate America’s emerging and executive leaders for their outstanding contribution.  The event is being cited as one of the most intellectually stimulating diverse executive leadership forums today. Diversity MBA Magazine celebrates 1 million in online distribution to both domestically and internationally serving 30 countries. Her company also publishes Minority Executive Leadership Journal Online; a thought leadership publication; they provide leadership development training seminars and webinars; and promote online recruiting through www.diversitymbamagazine.com.. Pam was named Chicago’s Who’s Who Most Influential for 2010- 2006; 2009 Phenomenal Woman Award from the Black Women’s Expo;  2009  Woman of the Year Award, 2009 Board Service Award, received a scholarship in 2007 to Dartmouth’s Executive Education for entrepreneurs’; honored by Triedstone Full Gospel Baptist Church as 2007 Entrepreneurship of the Year Award and nomination for ministry of the year and host of community service awards.

 While she has spent the past fourteen years in publishing, Pam has many years of executive leadership experience within the insurance property and casualty industry. She was known for her business acumen to turn around unprofitable divisions.  Pam frequently speaks on radio and is a columnist for some of the most prominent publications, she has had selected appearances  on WGN, ABC and NBC television.  She is also becoming a noted expert speaker at corporate diversity conferences on the landscape of diversity and leadership pipeline.

 As Retired Board Chair for StreetWise, Inc. an organization dedicated to the empowerment of homeless men and women, during her 8 years of service she changed their board from a grassroots team to a governing fiduciary responsible board.  In addition, she is a director of the Gamaliel Foundation, American Cancer Society, and DePaul University Marketing Advisory Board.  Pamela speaks and provides board development workshops and seminars for the nonprofit organizations, universities and small to midsize companies. She has served on more than 25 private and community boards in her career.   She also serves as Triedstone’s Full Gospel Baptist Church’s Apostolic Strategy Team leader and is a faithful friend of Boardroom Bound.

Pam is also recipient of the Rosalee Stern Award (highest Alumna award given by UC Berkeley for exceptional community service); among many others for her community service.  It is through this work that Pam demonstrates her spiritual commitment to God, as she is used for the empowerment of his people.

Pamela has a B.A. in Social Welfare, and Sociology.  She also received her M.B.A. in Finance and International Marketing from University of California Berkley, School of Haas; and a M.A. in Public Policy. 

Pamela is bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish.   Pamela is a mother of two boys, who are multicultural and bilingual, Joshua who 11 years old, and Cameron who is 8 years old.
